Other Volunteer Projects For 2025
Please join us for a volunteer workday honoring the gardens and beauty of Waimea Valley on Earth Day, Saturday, April 19! We will be working stream-side in our Central and South American collection. We will be targeting a couple of invasive species that have taken hold in this and other gardens along the stream.
Hānai 'āina Forest Restoration Project
9 AM - 3 PM
This is a unique chance to be a part of the Waimea Valley Volunteer Team and help care for this sacred valley. Participants will be going on an exclusive hike up to the central ridgeline called Kalāhe‘e and will spend the day helping the conservation team care for the native forest land.
The day begins promptly at 9am with a 45-minute hike up the ridge. The group will return to the valley floor and complete the day at 3 pm. Tasks may include: planting native species, invasive species control, mulching, and other related tasks.
Ages 12 and up are invited to attend. Any volunteers under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian go with them to volunteer.
