We seek a part-time Business Incubator Assistant. The Business Incubator Assistant reports to the Business Incubator Manager and is responsible for supporting the Manager with all administrative and organizing duties required to implement the three-year program funded by the Administration for Native Americans.
The Business Incubator is a nine-month entrepreneurship program for Native Hawaiians, veterans, and local residents, who want to build a meaningful, successful business rooted in self-sufficiency and Hawaiian cultural values. The intention is to increase the number of successful kamaʻāina owned enterprises through technical assistance, networking events, cultural workshops, and business training. The Business Incubator Assistant’s Duties & Responsibilities
Project Administration: Assisting the Manager with project communications, logistics and program delivery
Setting-up workshops and networking events (i.e. printing workshop materials, sending event reminder emails, participant follow-up, organizing events with the internal team)
Record-keeping and Data Collection to achieve program objectives, to include tracking attendance and survey results.
Performs all duties safely and in accordance with established procedures.
Participates in community events and/or public relations activities as directed by the Business Incubator Manager.
Regular attendance is required for this position. Some of our events may be in the evenings or weekends.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Incubator Manager.

In addition:
Supports clients in business admin like registering their business name and GE tax IDs.
Creates relevant program content, as directed by Business Incubator Manager.
Manages incubator printing process, including ordering supplies, supporting and training clients.
Manages pop-up market; organize market schedule, working with internal staff on logistics, ordering supplies needed, supporting clients in getting setup
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
Strong administrative skills
Strong people skills: Must be people-oriented and able to work well with others.
Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and Hawaiian language preferred.
Must be organized and a self-starter. Must exercise independent judgment to prioritize projects and respond to situations as they arise without direct supervision.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must project a professional demeanor.
Comfortable using a PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Forms
Comfortable using/learning Canva and Asana preferred.
Bonus: Experience using Cricut and Heat Press machines for designing totes, shirts, etc.
Education, Training, and/or Experience
A minimum of 5 years office administrative experience in an office environment.
Must have a high school diploma. Associate degree in business or administration preferred.

Hiʻipaka LLC - Waimea Valley on Oahu's North Shore is seeking full-time and part-time Retail and Visitor Service Associates to join our team. This position is responsible for ensuring that visitors have an excellent experience at Waimea Valley. The position duties include welcoming and informing visitors at the Visitor Center, retail sales in the Gift Shop, processing admissions transactions in the Ticket Booth, providing shuttle service to the waterfall, and monitoring our beach parking lots.
The position requirements are:

The Hoʻokipa Ambassador is responsible for providing a high level of hospitality to visitors and preparing visitors to experience the valley. The Hoʻokipa Ambassador team is integral to the success of the valley, ensuring visitors have smooth entry, understand where they are and how to make the most of their visit. To accomplish this, the Hoʻokipa Ambassadors inform about the resources available to the visitor, such as logistical assistance (shuttles, water stations, places to rest), access to traditional knowledge from cultural specialists and contemporary practitioners, the Hawaiian values-based Kaʻapuni o Waimea tour, access to archaeological sites, the world-renowned botanical collection, the Botanical tour, and the waterfall.
Position requirements:
Greets and welcomes visitors and guests as they enter.
Fields questions about admissions, services available and special rates.
Greets student groups and tour groups as they enter.
Shares map of Waimea Valley and several key points of interest.
Talks about activities and special events in the Valley each day.
Informs about the practitioners and cultural stations available each day.
Encourages visitors to consider the cultural and botanical walks and tours.
Promotes the Hawaiian values-based Kaʻapuni o Waimea program.
Educates about the historic sites, artifacts, and botanical resources in the Valley.
Encourages purchase of Souvenir Book when appropriate.
Extends assistance to visitors, informs the visitors about the valley terrain, and the difficulty of the walk, and shares information about shuttles.
Demonstrates assistance to the diverse audience and
For kamaʻaina, encourage meaningful, ongoing engagement with the valley by promoting kamaʻaina admission discounts, community events, annual passes, morning walker program, volunteer opportunities, and adopt-a-garden.
Able to respond to inquiries and/or discuss Hawaiian history, cultural practices, myths, and legends.
Is a teammate in the cultural department and can assist in facilitating cultural learning programs and special events.
Assists Marketing & Events Department by monitoring the condition of signage and making suggestions for signage, exhibits, and self-guided interpretive material for all ages.
Education Requirements:
As a minimum, a high school diploma is required. A degree (associate or four-year) in hospitality, Hawaiian Studies, or a related field is desirable.
At least two years of relevant community or Hawaiian agency experience.
